Childhood cancer correlates with higher risk of new tumors later

A 25-year study that followed 17,981 cancer survivors who were diagnosed before age 15 estimated that their risk of developing another tumor in adulthood was four times higher than expected. Survivors were 1.6% more likely to suffer another tumor at age 20 and 13.8% more likely at age 60, according to the study in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
