Sleep deprivation increases calorie intake, study finds

Columbia University researchers found that normal-weight men and women consumed 296 calories more on average when they slept for four hours versus when they got a full night's sleep. "Sleep deprivation makes you more susceptible to overeating, so that can be something to consider when you're trying to lose weight," lead study author Marie-Pierre St-Onge said. USA TODAY
