DNA test is designed to monitor health effects of stress

Scientists at the University of California, San Francisco, have developed a blood test that can tell people about their health status by analyzing the length of their telomeres, or pieces of DNA. Studies found that psychological stress can shorten the length of telomeres, which can lead to earlier death and development of cardiovascular disease, among other health-related issues. Telome Health, which was founded by one of UCSF scientists, expects to secure a clearance later this year to pave the way for doctors to order tests for patients. The Wall Street Journal
